About the day
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) runs a fundraising campaign each Ramadan, open to individuals, businesses and organisations. Past campaigns include 10 Million Meals in 2020, 1 Billion Meals in 2022, the Mothers' Endowment in 2024 and the Fathers' Endowment in 2025.
The 2026 campaign, Edge of Life, was launched on 13 February 2026 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It aimed to rescue five million children from hunger and raised more than AED 2.822 billion from 44,208 contributors.
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting. The 2027 campaign had not been announced as of October 2026.
