About the day
Omani Women's Day falls on 17 October each year. It grew out of a 2009 symposium on Omani women at Saih Al Makarim, after which the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said designated the date.
The Ministry of Social Development leads Oman's observance of the day, which honours women's contributions to building the nation. The 2025 theme was "She is Oman".
In October 2026 the Ministry of Social Development honoured 30 Omani women working in the energy, environment and minerals sectors.
