About the day
National Boyfriend Day falls on 3 October each year. It is an unofficial day with no known founder. Wikipedia traces it to around 2014, and it took off on social media in 2016.
It comes two months after National Girlfriend Day on 1 August. People mark it with messages, small gifts, dates and posts about their partner.
