About the day
Local and Community History Month takes place from 1 to 31 May each year. The Historical Association, the UK national charity for history, runs it and keeps a database where organisations can list their events.
It aims to raise awareness of local history and encourage everyone in the community to take part, through trips, library exhibitions and local talks.
