About the day
Hanuman Jayanti is marked with prayers, readings of the Hanuman Chalisa and temple visits. In much of north and west India, and at many UK temples, it falls on the full moon of Chaitra, while some southern traditions keep it at other times of year. Hindu festival dates follow the lunar calendar and can vary by a day between regions and communities.
