About the day
Gulf Oral Health Week is a unified awareness week across the GCC states, part of the Gulf Health Council's work on oral and dental health. It promotes good oral hygiene, low-sugar diets, quitting smoking and regular dental check-ups.
The Saudi Ministry of Health lists the week for 25 to 31 March, in both 2025 and 2026. Dates can vary by country: Qatar's Ministry of Public Health marked it in May 2025 under the slogan "Oral Health and Its Impact on Overall Physical Health".
The Saudi Ministry of Health notes that more than half of children aged 6 to 8 have decay in at least one baby tooth. Smoking and diabetes are major risk factors for gum disease.
