About the day
Bahraini Women's Day falls on 1 December each year. It was launched in 2008 by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
The day recognises women's roles in Bahrain's public life, including education, healthcare, business, politics and social development. Government bodies and other organisations hold their own events to mark it.
The 2023 slogan was "I read, learned, and participated".
