Dysautonomia Awareness Month takes place every October. Dysautonomia International, a US non-profit, encourages communities to mark it, and its awareness colour is turquoise.
Dysautonomia is a group of conditions in which the autonomic nervous system, which controls functions such as heart rate, breathing and temperature, does not work properly. There are at least 15 types, and postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) and vasovagal syncope are among the most common. In the UK, the charity PoTS UK runs PoTS Awareness Month in October, with PoTS Awareness Day on 25 October.
