About the day
National Mustard Day takes place each year on the first Saturday in August. The National Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wisconsin, has been the official sponsor of the event since 1991.
The day has traditionally included free hot dogs, free mustard sampling, music, games and other family entertainment. In 2010, when the event moved to the museum's new home in downtown Middleton, more than 6,000 people attended and over $3,500 was raised for the Restoring Hope Transplant House.
It suits condiment and sauce makers, food retailers, delis and hot dog vendors, barbecue and grilling brands, and food media.
