About the day
National Curry Week runs in the first full week of every October. It was founded in 1998 and is sponsored by Kingfisher, whose Cook-Off series is the headline event.
The week recognises restaurants, chefs, home cooks and communities that keep curry traditions going. In 2025 it ran from 6 to 12 October, and the Cook-Off winner receives a £1,000 donation to a charity of their choice.
It suits Indian and South Asian restaurants, supermarkets, ready meal and sauce brands, spice companies, beer brands and food delivery apps.
