About the day

Blue September is an annual awareness and fundraising campaign held in September for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand. It aims to get men talking about prostate cancer and to encourage them to get checked.

Businesses, community groups, families and individuals take part. Its main fundraiser is the BLUE DO, and people can also take on their own challenge, such as push-ups or a cycle ride, or host a get-together. The charity said in 2024 that the campaign was in its 11th year.
