About the day
Sharjah Biennial is a contemporary art exhibition presented by Sharjah Art Foundation at venues across the emirate. Sharjah Biennial 17, titled "What remains, sits restive", runs from 21 January to 13 June 2027, with an opening week from 21 to 24 January.
The edition is curated by Angela Harutyunyan and Paula Nascimento and has 109 participants. The National reports more than 100 artists across 11 venues in Sharjah city, Al Dhaid, Kalba and Khor Fakkan.
The foundation's exhibitions are free and open to the public. The foundation's March Meeting runs from 19 to 21 March during the biennial.
