About the day
UAE Innovates runs through February each year, with events, exhibitions and competitions across the seven emirates. Government bodies, private companies and educational institutions take part.
It began in 2015 as UAE Innovation Week and became a month-long event in 2017, its third edition. Over its first nine editions it engaged more than 1.5 million people and hosted more than 8,000 events.
The programme includes the UAE Innovates Awards and the Pitch@Gov programme. The 2025 edition coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation.
